Mines rules in 30 seconds
- Select the number of mines on a 5×5 grid (1–24).
- Place your stake and start the round.
- Click tiles to reveal gems. Each safe tile increases the multiplier.
- Cash out anytime. Hit a mine and the round ends with a loss.
Key idea: more mines mean higher potential multipliers per click but a higher chance to bust early.
Visual example (discipline grid)
A simple edge-to-diagonal route. Patterns guide clicks, not outcomes.
Best settings for beginners
| Plan | Mines | Click goal | Typical cashout | Variance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Safe start | 3 | 2–3 gems | ~1.8x–2.5x | Low |
| Balanced | 5 | 2–4 gems | ~2.0x–3.5x | Medium |
| High risk | 8–10 | 1–2 gems | ~2.3x–6.0x | High |
Targets vary by implementation. Use them as session anchors, not guarantees.
Quick setup
- Start with 3 to 5 mines.
- Decide a click cap before the round: 2, 3, or 4 tiles.
- Always cash out at the cap. Do not freestyle mid round.
Consistency beats impulse. Mines punishes “one more click”.
Edge sweep
Click along one edge first. It keeps eyes and hand disciplined and reduces random wandering.
Example: top row left→right for 2 or 3 tiles then cash.
Diagonal walk
Up-left to down-right diagonal. Good for 2–3 click caps. Stop after your cap, even if clean.
Triangle burst
Three clicks forming a small triangle in any corner. Cash immediately after the third.
Center poke
Single center click then immediate cash if safe at higher mine counts (8+). High variance probe.
Mirror pairs
Two symmetric clicks (e.g., top-left and top-right). Cash at 2 gems. Low time, tight discipline.
Reality check
Patterns do not predict bombs. Their purpose is pace control and pre-commitment to caps.
Payout curve explained
With fewer safe tiles left on the board, each next click grows the multiplier faster. More mines steepen this curve, making early clicks worth more but increasing bust risk.
| Mines | 1 safe | 2 safe | 3 safe | 4 safe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | ~1.30x | ~1.70x | ~2.20x | ~2.80x |
| 5 | ~1.40x | ~1.95x | ~2.60x | ~3.40x |
| 8 | ~1.60x | ~2.30x | ~3.30x | ~4.80x |
Values are typical for 5×5 Mines. Exact multipliers depend on the game’s paytable.
Practical targets
- 3 mines: cash at 2–3 gems (~1.7x–2.2x)
- 5 mines: cash at 2–3 gems (~2.0x–2.6x)
- 8 mines: cash at 1–2 gems (~1.6x–2.3x)
If you want 4+ clicks, reduce mines. If you want big multipliers fast, increase mines but cap clicks to 1–2.
Bankroll rules that keep you alive
- Stake 0.25%–1.0% of bankroll per round.
- Session stop: +10% profit or -5% loss for beginners.
- Withdraw part of profits between blocks to bank gains.
Never raise stake size mid drawdown. Shrink or pause. Mines variance spikes without warning.
Example session
Bankroll: $1,000 Stake: 0.5% = $5 Mines: 5 Click cap: 3 tiles Cashout target: ~2.4x Block rules: stop at +$50 or -$25
Simple, repeatable, and resilient to bad sequences.
Autoplay? Use sparingly
Mines rewards focus. Autoplay removes the conscious “should I cash now?” step and can overrun your caps during lag or distraction.
- OK for low mine counts and 2-click caps.
- Avoid at high mine counts or when tired.
- Enable hard stop rules if you must use it.
Safer auto preset
Mines: 3 Stake: 0.5% bankroll Clicks per round: 2 Rounds: 50 max Stop after profit: +10% Stop after loss: -5%
Manual play is still better for discipline. Treat auto as a tool, not default.
Provably fair—verify your board
On Duel, each Mines round commits a hashed server seed before you click. Your client seed and a nonce combine to produce a deterministic board layout. After the round, the server seed is revealed.
// Pseudocode (concept) const layout = g(serverSeed, clientSeed, nonce) // After reveal, recompute layout and confirm mine positions
Open the on-site verifier, paste your Bet ID, and reproduce the board. Trust the math, not marketing.
Why this matters
- Prevents mid-game manipulation
- Enables post-session audits
- Builds confidence for long-term play
Mines FAQ—long tail answers
Best Mines strategy for beginners
3–5 mines, 2–3 click cap, cash out on cap, stake 0.25%–0.5% per round, and play in 10–20 minute blocks.
Best number of mines
Three to five mines offer the best balance of payout growth and survival for most players.
Do patterns improve odds
No. They improve discipline and reduce misclicks. Outcomes are still random and verifiable.
Is there a perfect cashout multiplier
No universal best. 2x–3x is popular for steady sessions. Adjust based on mines and click cap.
Should I chase after a bomb
No. Stick to your stake and cap. Chasing is how bankrolls evaporate.
